Blogging is tedious...
Anyway, I recently got engaged! Now the wedding plans begin; I had no idea that it would be so much work. I've planned events before, I'm a seriously organized person but this.?.this is impossible!
It has always been my plan to reach out to my network and call in favors for the big day. #Major Fail It doesn't matter how many "likes" you get on your relationship update, when people hear wedding they see dollar signs.
I used to model, so I know photographers, make up artists, clothing designers and more. I made the mistake of thinking that these "friends" would give me the homie discount on an engagement makeover or photo shoot...girl please, this is business. Thankfully a friend gave us the patial wedding gift price and we got some beautiful shots done. A client who was promoting her business - dotWED domain names - gave us or wedsite address for free, so that was nice.
We had a plans for an intimate cookout with family and friends for our reception, until we visited his parents, who had 50 guests they wanted to invite. "...well she's know our son since he was a baby" REALLY? in the words of Miss Jackson if you nasty, "What has she done for him lately?" I was warned that parents would cause the most amount of friction.
Apparently, the venue is the thing that needs to be locked down first and foremost. After that everything falls into place, so we are headed out to tour our second choice site on the earliest available date they have which has absolutely no meaning to our lives and will probably end up being the most expensive anniversary date ever! oh well.

She's not Mrs. Steve Jobs
I took my old laptop to the Apple store this morning, to have it restored to factory settings. A customer around the diagnostic table was complaining about his phone not working; the Apple Agent simply did a hard reset and it started again. That wasn't good enough for him.
I'm not sure if he was simply embarrassed by the simple fix or if his plan was to make as much fuss as possible to get free stuff. He pulls out the largest windows laptop I've ever seen and begins to complain about his inability to access all of his music on from his playlist onto his iPhone.
As the agent explains the process he starts to fish for things to complain about. "So I can access songs I uploaded from a cd to my iPhone? But I use the cloud?!" "You just want to take my money!" "This is supposed to be a user friendly system" blah blah blah.
The most upsetting thing in this whole ordeal was the Apple Agent having to listen and be polite to a guy who's initial issue has been resolved but is out for whatever freebie he can receive.
Sad sad first world problems .

Preach It!!
Going to bed at 4:30AM two days in a row is very unusual for me. I don't consider myself overly religious but I know there's a God and I know he watches over me. HIS message is the reason I've been going to bed when the farmers are waking up.
I lost my job back in October, one day before moving into my new home. Not an apartment or shared house, "a sign these 50 pages, here's the deed, pay the bills" type of home! Since money doesn't stay with me long, needless to say I was scared of loosing the home I just bought.
In steps God, out of nowhere and for the last four months I haven't missed a single payment of any bill. But let me get back to the fact that I'm going to bed at 4:30AM.
The preachers at the church I attend are artists, true masters of language. Remember when you watched the original Karate Kid for the first time? You just knew you could go out and be a black belt. I was just itchin for a fence to paint or car to wax! Well that's how these masters of mission have made me feel these last few weeks.
I decided to work for myself, something I've wanted to do for a while, the clients are there but adapting to being the boss and employee has been challenging. Thankfully "Minister Miyagi" has preached a message so powerful that I dare not go to sleep until the tasks are done.
Paint the fence and praise The Lord, wax on and work HIS word.

Let's Get This Started
It's a new year and I thought I'd try this blogging thing one more time. In the past I'd attempted to blog about specific themes (buying my first home, working on a television show, transitioning to natural hair) but I've found that my life is so diverse that I have a lot of stories about a few things but not enough about just one.
So welcome to Muffin Moments!
Muffins have nothing to do with this blog, I do enjoy the occational muffin but I'm not a chef or a foodie. I got the nickname "English Muffin" when I moved to America from England; a coworker said that I was "sweet like a muffin, ha! English Muffin" it didn't hurt so I kept it.
Anyway, be prepared for a mixed mash of post on random themes hence Muffin Moments!
Enjoy.
